Cessna 210 Centurion
N9517T
High performance on a budget
$75,000 USD
Here's an opportunity to get into a true high performance aircraft on a budget.
The Cessna 210 Centurion, with its retractable gear and big bore Continental engine, is the iconic high performer and the most desirable of all Cessna single engine piston aircraft. The early 210 models are known for their strong, high quality build and for being lighter in weight which, when coupled with its fuel-injected Continental IO-470 big bore engine, gives you a fast and economical airplane.
N9517T has been hangared and flown out of the drier parts of the country for two decades, and is a well-preserved specimen of an early 210 model. With its fairly new interior and IFR-capable panel with a Garmin GPS navigator, this 210 is nicer than most others on the market, and is a joy to fly.
Please carefully review the detailed, high resolution image gallery and lengthy walkaround video below. You'll see every inch of the aircraft. If you reach out to me, I can digitally share all logbooks and important documents.

Aircraft Evaluation
As the broker, I make a significant effort to represent an aircraft in as much detail as possible. I share with you not only the benefits and features I've discovered, but also the issues or concerns that I found during my extensive intake and deep logbook review process. I present dozens of detailed, high resolution images, and an extensive walkaround video. Please review this material in detail. All logbooks and other important documents are professionally scanned, well organized, and available for your review.
My goal is that any Buyer making the effort to look at an aircraft in person can first see the aircraft "virtually" on this web page. |
Exterior - The aircraft has ramp appeal and looks good overall. Despite the age of the paint (2001), it has retained good depth and shine, primarily because the aircraft has always been hangared. While the paint does not need any attention, it would look absolutely fantastic if it was professionally polished. Overall though, it is clean the way it is now. Even the landing/taxi light Plexiglas housing is clear and sharp looking.
The sheet aluminum is generally straight and in good condition with one exception: there is what appears to be some hangar rash on the right side of the elevator which is purely cosmetic. The elevator also has a couple of small areas where it appears that paint was not properly primed or applied, leaving some bubbling (an IA reports that it does not appear to be corrosion). And, as is typical on these Cessnas, the fiberglass wingtips have some minor cracks and scrapes. Please review the detailed images in the Image Gallery below - it shows the aircraft up close, from every angle.
Instrument Panel - For an aircraft of this vintage which has not had an entire panel makeover, this panel is pretty nice. It has been tastefully upgraded with a Garmin IFR/WAAS capable GPS navigator and COM radio which compliments a Narco nav/com radio. The aircraft has been kept current with its IFR certification.
Some of the best features of the panel, besides the Garmin equipment, are the engine and fuel management systems. Coupled with the GAMI injectors, the Insight G1 allows tight management of engine CHT/EGTs, provides early warning of temperature issues, and allows engine data to be collected onto a memory card. The JPI Fuel Scan 450, coupled with the fuel transducer, is an accurate way to determine fuel consumed and fuel remaining. Please refer to the "Avionics and Equipment" list above, for complete details, and to the Image Gallery below for close-up images.
Interior - The recently refreshed interior of N9517T looks good! Plastics and headliner are in good condition, and the leather seating shows only minimal wear and has no tears or separations. The door panels are in good condition and show no unusual wear. While the front carpet could use a little clean-up, overall the interior is in nice condition. Please carefully review the interior images in the Image Gallery below.
Overall - This Cessna 210 Centurion is a bargain for the pilot who seeks a classic high performance aircraft that has generally good cosmetics, is IFR-capable with some modern instrumentation, and has excellent speed and economy.
For the buyer who offers a reasonable price, the owner of the aircraft has several highly desirable maintenance/tooling items which can be included in the sale or sold to the new owner. Among these items are wing jacks and an external hydraulic pump, both of which can be difficult to acquire and are often loaned to others at the local airport since they're in demand.
