The Bellanca Super Viking 17-30A seamlessly blends timeless handcrafted craftsmanship with exhilarating 160 knot cross-country performance.

The Super Viking stands out as the ultimate pilot’s airplane because it masterfully combines responsive, sports-car-like handling with a remarkably smooth ride, courtesy of its legendary, hand-certified sitka spruce wing structure. Unlike its sterile, rivet-popping aluminum contemporaries, the Super Viking’s steel-tube fuselage and robust design absorb turbulence with ease, offering a quiet, comfortable cabin and an incredibly strong airframe.
Powered by a dependable Continental big bore 300-horsepower engine, it delivers high-performance cruise speeds at a fraction of the acquisition cost of a comparable Mooney or Beechcraft Bonanza - making it the absolute best value in the high-performance retractable class for anyone who truly loves the art of flying.
This low time, late model Bellanca 17-30A Super Viking has a fantastic maintenance record, having been maintained for 25 years by one of the nation's top Bellanca shops (MARS - Dan Torrey - Santa Paula, CA). The aircraft has been a faithful and well running aircraft for its current owner, who is meticulous about maintenance and has regularly flown the aircraft. However, since his mission has changed, he is now looking for a good home for this Arizona-based, always hangared Super Viking.

Aircraft Evaluation
| As the broker, I make a significant effort to represent an aircraft in as much detail as possible. I share with you not only the benefits and features I've discovered, but also the issues or concerns that I found during my extensive intake and deep logbook review process. I present dozens of detailed, high resolution images, and an extensive walkaround video. Please review this material in detail. Logbooks and other important documents are professionally scanned, well organized, and are available upon request for your review. |
Exterior - Overall, Super Viking N28139 has great ramp presence with its nice looking exterior. It looks good up close.
During the broker intake process, I noticed no damage or issues. Leading and trailing edges of the wings and tail look nearly perfect, with no indication of hangar rash or hail damage. The tops of the smooth, hand-crafted wings are beautiful. The body looks to be in really good condition, and the paint looks great (no doubt this is because the aircraft is always hangared). I noted only a couple of very minor, difficult-to-spot cracks in the paint.
The tinted Plexiglas windows look nice and do not show evidence of haze. The tires look healthy and like they are in good condition. I saw no evidence of fluid leaks from the engine or the brakes. The current owner is a stickler for "no leaks" and has taken extra steps to eliminate all leaks that he's found.
Please explore the extensive, high-resolution close-up image gallery below to verify the good overall exterior condition of this Bellanca 17-30A Super Viking.
Instrument Panel - The standard 6-pack IFR panel features primarily Apollo/Garmin avionics, with a GNS480, which serves as an IFR GPS navigator and does primary comms.
Please refer to the "Avionics and Equipment" list above for complete details of all avionics, and to the Image Gallery below for close-up images.
Interior - The recently refreshed (2025) interior looks and smells nice. During the intake process, I noted no issues in the interior. The gray leather and cloth insert seats, and the clean side panels and carpet bring the interior up to a modern look (remember the gaudy, crushed velour factory interiors that these aircraft came with?) The gray leather-like headliner is crisp and fresh, and really makes the interior look great.
Overall, the interior of this aircraft looks good. Please review the high resolution images in the Image Gallery (below) for a detailed look at the interior condition.
