The Beechcraft Model 36 Bonanza seamlessly combines legendary sports-car handling with a stretched, six-seat cabin and large rear cargo doors, making it the ultimate cross-country flying machine for families and business travelers alike.

The Bonanza stands as an unrivaled icon in aviation history, featuring a timeless, aerodynamic design originally conceived 8 decades ago that still turns heads on the ramp today. Long regarded as the "Cadillac of single-engine aircraft," it blends rugged utility-category engineering and huge useful load capability into an aircraft that flies nicer than any others in its class. For the modern pilot, this classic Model 36 delivers the perfect mix of aesthetics, craftsmanship, and highly practical six-seat cross-country performance.

This classic Model 36 is an excellent example of a largely original Bonanza, just how Beechcraft engineers designed it. This aircraft proudly wears its highly polished, original paint, featuring a stunning vintage patina that bridges the gap between classic aviation history and modern ramp appeal, offering a rare "survivor-status" look that simply cannot be replicated by a modern paint shop.

Arguably, the most important part of any aircraft is the engine - and this Bonanza has the coveted Continental IO-550 upgrade. The big bore IO-550 bumps power up to 300 horsepower, enhancing climb and cruise performance.

This is Cirrus-like performance in an aircraft that has significantly greater useful load (1638 lbs), can carry more passengers, and does all of this at significantly lower operating and maintenance costs.

N3477A carries a proud history, having been owned by the same family for nearly all of its life. Please read this enjoyable article in the American Bonanza Society Magazine to learn more about this unique Bonanza.

Please carefully review the detailed, high resolution image gallery and walkaround video below. You'll see every inch of the aircraft. If you reach out to me, I can digitally share all logbooks and important documents.

Aircraft Evaluation

As the broker, I make a significant effort to represent an aircraft in as much detail as possible. I share with you not only the benefits and features I've discovered, but also the issues or concerns that I found during my extensive intake and deep logbook review process. I present dozens of detailed, high resolution images, and an extensive walkaround video. Please review this material in detail. Logbooks and other important documents are professionally scanned, well organized, and are available upon request for your review.

A broker's evaluation is never a substitute for an independent mechanic's pre-purchase inspection. Buyers are encouraged to hire their own mechanic to do a thorough inspection before completing a purchase.

Exterior - What caught my eye, the first time I saw N3477A, was the incredibly cool looking patina in the original paint. Patina isn't appreciated by everyone, but if you like original factory paint schemes and period-correct color combinations, then this aircraft is one to appreciate. The paint is highly polished and looks to me like ceramic coat. It turns heads on the ramp.

During the broker intake process, I found the aluminum to be in good condition. Wing and tail leading edges were free of hangar rash. The starboard side elevator has a very minor blemish on its outer trailing edge, presumably from hangar rash. Fuselage and wings, including control surfaces, look smooth and do not show any evidence of hail damage or other imperfections. The engine upper cowling has some paint chipping and one minor dent, and I observed some very minor paint flaws along wing leading edges and tips.

The side windows appear clear and in good condition for their age. The windshield shows some haze. Tires are nearly new and in good condition. I saw no evidence of fluid leaks from the engine or the brakes. The seller has a Bruce's cover, still in its original box, which will be included with the aircraft.

Please explore the extensive, high-resolution close-up image gallery below to verify the good overall exterior condition of this Beechcraft 36 Bonanza.

Instrument Panel - The standard 6-pack IFR capable panel features primarily Bendix King avionics, including a KX165 and KX155 digital display flip-flop navcoms. The transponder was recently upgraded to a Garmin GTX335 which provides ADS-B Out. The pilot controls have been upgraded from the factory single "throw-over" yoke to a dual-yoke system. This type of pilot control arrangement is an upgrade desired by most Bonanza owners, and one which most CFIs will require if you are training with them.

Please refer to the "Avionics and Equipment" list above for complete details of the avionics, and to the Image Gallery below for close-up images.

Interior - The interior is largely original, and in good condition for its age. The seats have high quality, thick, plush sheepskin covers which are custom-fit and cover very well (sides and underneath too). The headliner, side panels, and door panels do not show excessive wear and are in generally good condition.

The rear seats are in conventional configuration (not "club seating"). Currently, the rear-most two seats are removed, but are in good condition and are included with the aircraft.

Please review the high resolution images in the Image Gallery (below) for a detailed look at the interior condition.
