Clean, well optioned, very capable backcountry Carbon Cub FX-2.
The Carbon Cub is a series of modern, high-performance aircraft from CubCrafters, known for exceptional short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities, superb power-to-weight ratios, and rugged design for off-airport operations. Despite the variety of competing Cub-type aircraft on the market, the Cubcrafters Carbon Cub remains the top choice amongst backcountry and tailwheel enthusiasts.
This FX-2 model was a factory-assist build, and was appointed with a fantastic factory option Garmin glass panel. Other options include extended range fuel tanks, Garmin 2-axis autopilot, heavy-duty fabric on the undersides, and "checker flag-style" paint scheme on the tail.
This Carbon Cub FX-2 is hangared at an exclusive airpark in the Phoenix area, and is one of two Carbon Cubs owned by its owner. With the recent addition of a new Cubcrafters UL, it's time to find this FX-2 a new home.

Walkaround Video
Aircraft Evaluation
| As the broker, I make a significant effort to represent an aircraft in as much detail as possible. I share with you not only the benefits and features I've discovered, but also the issues or concerns that I found during my extensive intake and deep logbook review process. I present dozens of detailed, high resolution images, and an extensive walkaround video. Please review this material in detail. All logbooks and other important documents are professionally scanned, well organized, and available for your review. |
Exterior - The exterior of N266M is in fantastic condition. During the intake process, I looked carefully for issues, and I struggled to find anything wrong with the exterior. The paint is in great condition and has excellent shine and depth. Leading and trailing edges are crisp and undamaged. I saw no fabric issues on the aircraft. The only flaw that I spotted during the close walk-around was a very minor scrape on the right wing tip (see detailed pictures below) - this is something that most people wouldn't notice.
The Image Gallery (below) contains many close-up, detailed, high resolution images so that you can get a better idea of the aircraft exterior condition.
Instrument Panel - In typical Cubcrafters fashion, this Carbon Cub FX-2 has a well appointed VFR instrument panel which will please even the most discerning pilot. The Garmin G3X-style touchscreen glass panel provides all of the standard functionality, including ADS-B Out and In. The Garmin GFC-500-style 2-axis autopilot eases the load on cross-country flights. Both USB-A and socket-style 12v power outlets are mounted at the lower right corner of the panel.
Please refer to the "Avionics and Equipment" list above for complete details of all avionics, and to the Image Gallery below for close-up images.
Interior - N266M has a spartan-like and rugged interior, as one would expect in a Cubcrafters Carbon Cub. The Oregon Aero pilot seat is a wonderful upgrade to make the longer flights far more comfortable. The optional rear-seat trim control allows your co-pilot to help out when needed, too. Overall, the interior is in nice condition, showing minimal wear.
Please review the high resolution images in the Image Gallery (below) for a detailed look at the interior condition.
