N17KF - main 1

Clean, highly optioned, very capable backcountry Carbon Cub.

The Carbon Cub is a series of modern, high-performance aircraft from CubCrafters, known for exceptional short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities, superb power-to-weight ratios, and rugged design for off-airport operations. Despite the variety of competing Cub-type aircraft on the market, the Cubcrafters Carbon Cub remains the top choice amongst backcountry and tailwheel enthusiasts.

This FX2 model was a factory-assist build, and was appointed with the best panel offered by Cubcrafters. Other options include 31" Alaskan Bushwheels, extended range fuel tanks, upgraded ignition system with backup battery, and a Garmin autopilot.

This one-owner Carbon Cub FX2 is hangared at a private airpark in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and has lived its entire life in the dry Arizona desert. It is one of several aircraft owned by its owner. With a Cubcrafters UL now on order, it's time to find this FX2 a new home.

Please carefully review the specs, the detailed high resolution image gallery, and the walkaround video below. A significant effort has been made to fully review all logbooks and document the specifications and history of this aircraft. If you reach out to me, I can digitally share all logbooks and important documents.

Aircraft Evaluation

As the broker, I make a significant effort to represent an aircraft in as much detail as possible. I share with you not only the benefits and features I've discovered, but also the issues or concerns that I found during my extensive intake process. I present dozens of detailed, high resolution images, and an extensive walkaround video. Please review this material in detail. All logbooks and other important documents are professionally scanned, well organized, and available for your review.

My goal is that any Buyer making the effort to look at an aircraft in person can first see the aircraft "virtually" on this web page.

Exterior - Overall, the exterior of this Carbon Cub FX2 is in really nice condition. The paint is rated a 9+ and looks nearly factory new. The fabric is in outstanding condition, with only one minor exception on the outboard left wing where the aircraft lightly grazed a bush during landing, resulting in a difficult-to-see imprint on the wing leading edge and very slight damage to fabric in a couple different spots. This damage is not very obvious, though, and has been examined during the Condition Inspection and found to be not an issue. Check out the detailed high-resolution images below to see what I'm talking about.

As a result of always being hangared, not only does the paint look nearly factory new, but the Plexiglas windows and windshield are clear and bright. The underside of the fuselage is nearly as clean as the top side. The large 31" Alaskan Bushwheels look good and give this FX2 a great stance. This aircraft has good ramp presence.

The Image Gallery (below) contains close-up, detailed, high resolution images so that you can get a great view of the aircraft exterior.

N17KF - short wide panel

Instrument Panel - One cannot get much better for a panel than what you'll find in this FX2. It has what was Cubcrafter's top offering at the time of build, consisting of pure Garmin avionics: a G3X touch screen PFD w/ AoA, an optional Garmin 2-axis autopilot, an integrated Garmin ADS-B In/Out and transponder, and a Garmin GTR200 comm radio. This panel is a VFR pilot's dream setup.

Please refer to the "Avionics and Equipment" list above for complete details, and to the Image Gallery below for close-up images.

Interior - the standard spartan-like interior of this Carbon Cub is clean and void of any issues. It shows very little wear. The Oregon Aero front seat is one of the most comfortable of any seat offerings in a Cub.

Overall, the interior is in really nice condition. Please look at the high resolution images in the Image Gallery for more details on the interior condition.

Overall - Carbon Cub N17KF has a bang-for-the-buck factor that makes it one of the most appealing offerings on the market. Its handsome features, high Cubcrafters quality, and outstanding performance can be yours for a fraction of the cost of a new one.
